The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin

The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin

Beatrix Potter

A
mischievous squirrel, a riddle-filled adventure, and a lesson in manners! Every
autumn, the squirrels of the wood travel to Owl Island to gather nuts. While
the others
work hard and bring gifts to the island’s resident, Old Brown the owl, Nutkin
is far too
busy playing. Instead
of gathering food, Nutkin spends his days singing riddles, dancing, and teasing the
solemn owl with his cheeky behavior. But Old Brown’s patience is not endless.
As the days
pass and Nutkin’s jokes grow bolder, the little squirrel discovers that some
games can have
very sharp consequences.

Will
Nutkin’s wit be enough to save his tail, or has he finally asked one riddle too many? Beatrix
Potter’s spirited story of curiosity and consequence, featuring delightful new illustrations.
